Dutch to English translation  of ROOTSTIME review

Unmistakably, this Bradley Tucker from Texas. This is indicated by its name but also the music on her new CD "Lonely Man". The Tex-Mex accordion Doug Legacy in the song "Just One More Dance" could hardly sound more Texan. Yet not-so-young lady from Houston not only with the typical local sound busy and explores some of the songs of musical kindred spirit like Laurie Anderson. Bradley Tucker studied the mid-sixties the entire repertoire of Joan Baez in the head and began to sing those songs as a teenager, first at family parties and later also music scene. In 1972 she joined her first group as a singer "Cat's Pajamas" which includes Rock Romano, Mike Sumler and Joe Dugan acted as permanent members. Then she went to sing at Mayo Thompson's Rocking "Blue Diamonds and Doug Legacy's Montrose Marching Band. Mid seventies, they formed together with Rock Romano and Mike Sumler a new group called The New Bluesicians Texas. Same as his friends for these "Lonely Man" reappeared in the immediate vicinity of Bradley Tucker, in that long interval of 30 years also had four children and their upbringing was mainly concerned about. Rock Romano is the producer of this first solo album by Bradley Tucker, an album that was recorded in his studio Red Shack in Houston. He also serves also as a musician on electric guitar and bass on most tracks. That these old rats in the box still have not forgotten shows the beautiful bouquet of songs on this album is offered. The tex-mex song "Just One More Dance", the jazzy "I Loved You", the beautiful, emotionally sung title track "Lonely Man", the impressive accordion tango "Adventures in Paradise" which is largely sung in Spanish is reworked the traditional "Polly, Pretty Polly" and the lovely closing "Saving Grace". We can really say anything negative about this album, except perhaps that we regret that the fun is over after nine songs in just half an hour. That will have nothing to do with the age of the musicians but rather due to the availability of more powerful songs. Then 30 minutes prefer beautiful songs, good songs and less filler. Keep writing, please and surprise us again soon.
